Saturday 19th
Rebar framework constructed over the three north end piles.
This will become the reinforced concrete support for the north end of the bridge span.
North end, seen from main road.
Wed 14th Dec
Constructing wooden shuttering around the rebar framework. The shuttering forms a mould for the concrete
Hi-tech theodolite.
The vehicle behind is a Concrete Pump. When the machinery unfolds, it can pump concrete a considerable distance to otherwise inaccesible places.
Bases for northern pillars..
The four pillar bases will straddle the deepest part of the creek (where the flume pipes are now) when the causeway is removed.
Stormy weather away to the east, but the December sun lights up the two pumps (for concrete and water).
More north end shuttering
South end - testing machine on east pile
North end shuttering
Clifton Terrace enjoys the winter sunshine, while below the work continues. A south end pile is in the foreground.

High tides rise through the gravel causeway and keep the pump busy.

East side of causeway. The flume pipes are hidden as the tide rises.
Excavating around tops of south end piles.
North end support has been partly concreted
South end: four piles uncovered. Shuttering supports north side of excavation.
North end bridge support
North end: more 'steelwork' with rebar.
South end: top of quay wall uncovered...
...as high tide floods the lower causeway.
Uncovering the fifth, eastern, pile
