Birth of a Bridge - the Big Pour!
And so the long day of the Big Pour finally achieved its object, and a solid reinforced concrete bridge was in place. The weather for the Big Pour was perfect - in fact, it was good for most of March 2012.
But there's still more to do before the new bridge can take over from the old. A new roadway must be built, and all the temporary infrastructure must be removed, and the river bed has to be returned to its original condition, thus maintaining the integrity of the Nature Reserve.
